Preach R Sun — U.S. based conjurer, “street preacher” and “fugitivist” — implements and integrates: political activism, creative expression, and spiritual (new ritual) modalities as means to activate cognitive contemplation and awareness regarding freedom, humanity, and a universal (‘SOLE’) consciousness. Sun, working at the interface of “art,” activism, and spiritual practice, incorporates these multimodal languages through a process of creative consolidation involving spiritual/ ritual actions, as well as protest tactics and creative, abstract performance-based strategies, as means of social activation.

Preach R Sun most often works on the street, creatively incorporating abstract performance-focused strategies, with ritualistic actions and political guerrilla-based tactics. However, the self-proclaimed ‘street preacher’ also presents in festivals and galleries, using performance and video as tools to further his mission and ministry of social change, universal humanity, liberation, and SOLE activation. In his own words: ‘freedom is my life’s mission, ministry and creative praxis.' As such my work serves as an investigative inquiry into the nature and limits of humanity and freedom. Thus, the work should (both) provoke questions regarding our perceptions of freedom and humanity, while also demonstrating the strength and agency of individual action – pushing limits, challenging boundaries, and negating ALL blocks that divide us. i believe such action is not only inspirational, but instrumentally essential in galvanizing society towards the effort of collective unity (worldwide) that will serve as a catalyst for a collective awakening which will ultimately bring about true universal liberation, salvation, and humanity — the manifestation and activation of ‘SOLE’.
